We came accross this rebel on the Kirkstone pass on our way to a wedding.

Thuline De Cock: I am a practising Belgian artist living in the lakes since 1996. I finished my studies in interior Architecture in 1993. After a 3-year break, during which I worked as an educator in an immigration centre, travelled to the states, Ghana and Europe, I moved to the Kendal and started painting again Even though animals isn't the only thing I paints, it is what I’m best known for. 'I observe animals, their shapes, gestures and mannerisms and take them out of their context. I use bold colours. Composition plays an important role in my paintings. I enjoy the gathering of information as much as I do the painting. Cows are funny creatures. Just like humans, they have their own characters. Their faces show expressions and a curiosity that never stop to amaze and fascinate me.' Since 2008 Alpha1 Marketing has been representing me and is selling originals and limited edition prints all over the UK and Ireland I was short listed twice for Best-selling up and coming artist. (the Fine Art Trade guilt) I have been teaching in Adult education since 1999, and done numerous Children workshops.
